How do I use my Ironforge?
The Ironforge can be used with the faceplate directly against your skin, or up to 6" for targeted use. Keep the device in constant motion over your body to avoid excessive heat buildup.
As with any new wellness tool, start small and work up to what feels right for your body. Many people find their ideal routine between 5–15 minutes a day, spread over the whole body and focusing more on specific areas.
How long will it take to see results?
Individual experiences vary. Some of our customers notice a difference right away, while others see changes after consistent daily use over a few weeks. The most common pattern we hear is that people feel a difference within the first two to four weeks of consistent use.
Is red light therapy proven to work?
Thousands of peer-reviewed studies have investigated red and near-infrared light across a wide range of applications. The Ironforge is engineered around the wavelengths and irradiance levels most studied in that research, and is designed to deliver them efficiently in short sessions.
Can I use it on my face, joints, or sensitive areas?
Yes. The Ironforge is designed for targeted use across the body. You can use it on your knees, back, neck, shoulders, or face. Just be mindful of distance and duration. Increase the distance over the face and other sensitive areas, and be aware of heat buildup in the skin.
Will this replace my physical therapy, massage, or clinic visits?
The Ironforge is not a medical device and is not a replacement for professional care. Many of our customers use it alongside their existing wellness routines like workouts, stretching, massage as an additional tool in their daily practice.
Is Ironforge safe for daily use?
Yes. The Ironforge uses wavelengths that have been widely studied and shown to be safe when used as directed. There is no UV output, and the device is engineered to meet strict safety standards. Follow the usage guidelines and allow your body to adapt gradually if you're new to red light.
Is Ironforge portable? Can I travel with it?
Yes. Every Ironforge come with a travel case roughly the size of a small briefcase. Simply throw it your car and enjoy powerful red light therapy where ever life takes you. Whether you’re on the road for competition or working remotely, your recovery routine doesn’t need to pause.
Do I need to use it on bare skin?
For best results, red and near-infrared light should reach the skin directly. Using the Ironforge on clean, bare skin maximizes what your body absorbs. For areas where that's less practical, increasing the distance slightly still delivers light — just at a lower intensity.
How long will it take to get my order?
It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 3-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
Isn't more than a few J/cm^2 too much power?
No! Let's estimate the fluence (total dose) of red and NIR light one might get from the sun on an average summer day under the shade of a tree...
1. Sunlight Spectrum Intensity:
Sunlight is approximately 1000 W/m^2 in direct sunlight. When considering the red to NIR range (600-900nm), about 43% of the solar spectrum falls into this range. So, the intensity in this range is approximately: 0.43 x 1000 W/m^2 = 430 W/m^2
2. Shade Reduction:
Being in the shade can reduce sunlight intensity by around 50-90%, depending on the shade's type and density. Let's take an average value of 70% reduction. Intensity in the shade = 0.3 x 430 W/m^2 = 129 W/m^2
3. Conversion to Fluence (Total Dose):
Fluence (J/cm^2) is power (W/cm^2) multiplied by time (seconds). Let's consider
exposure over a day (let's say 6 hours of variable sunlight in shade). This would be 6 x 60 x 60 seconds = 21,600 seconds.
First, convert the intensity from W/m^2 to W/cm^2:
129 W/m^2 = 0.0129 W/cm^2
Then, compute the fluence:
Fluence = 0.0129 W/cm^2 x 21,600 s = 278.88 J/cm^2
So, in the shade on an average summer day, one could be exposed to a total
fluence of near 300 J/cm^2 in the red & near infrared range from the sun.
We find the total exposure seems to be more important in many processes, so we us multi-watt red/nir light in our device to offer quick effective treatments.

Can I use my Ironforge worldwide?
Yes! Your Ironforge is compatible with both 110/120 and 220/240 V, (adapter not included).
Some LEDs are not lit up, is my device broken?
Rest assured the device is working properly.
Wavelengths beyond about 700 nanometers are invisible to the human eye, it's normal to not see any light from the LEDs labeled in this range.
This is by design as near infrared (NIR) light is the frequency range that penetrates deepest into the tissue to do their job.
One way to verify complete function is using an inexpensive wall power meter like the "kill-a-watt" device, you should see around 200W +-10W of power draw.
