For the 3AM shift with a newborn
The light you flip on at 3AM has blue light in it. That's why you're still awake at 4.
The Sky Portal is the nursery light with 0% blue light. Turn it up to see the onesie and do the change. Turn it down and go back to bed, because nothing in that light tells your body it's morning.

It's 3:12 and the baby is up, which means you're up. The nightlight in the corner was supposed to be enough. It isn't. It's too dim to see the diaper by, and the light it does give off is a cold LED glow with blue light in it, flickering in your newborn's eyes. So the big light goes on anyway, and the whole room goes bright.
You do the change, you get the baby back down, and then you lie there wide awake, doing the math on how much sleep is left.
We made the Sky Portal for that parent. The one who's up at 3AM, needs to see what they're doing, and shouldn't have to pay for it by being awake for another hour or two.
The light you need to see by is the light that keeps you up.
Bright light at night, and the blue light in it especially, tells your body it's daytime. That's true for you, and it's true for the baby in your arms. Most bulbs carry that blue light even when they look warm.
So each of those nights comes down to a choice: see what you're doing, or get back to sleep. We wanted to end that choice.

The ceiling light
You can see. Your body thinks it's morning.

The nightlight
Too dim to see by, and it still flickers.

The Sky Portal
Enough to see by. Nothing that says morning.

Meet the Sky Portal. One dial. No blue light. No flicker.
Night mode is a warm amber glow with no blue light in it at all. Turn the dial down and it's a candle. Turn it up and you can read a label, change a diaper and find the socks. It never flickers, at any brightness.
The desk mount and the floor stand both come in the box, so it sits by the chair, the changing table or the crib. The light tilts at the base, so you can bounce it off a wall instead of pointing it at anyone.

What tomorrow night looks like.
You hear the baby. You turn the dial to where you left it, and the room comes up soft and warm, enough to see by. You change, you get the baby back to sleep, and you turn the dial back down.
Then the part our owners talk about most: they go back to sleep too. Nothing in that light told the baby it's morning, so the baby goes back down fast, and nothing told you either, so you're back under the covers while the clock still says three-something.
In the morning, flip it to day mode and the room feels like a window opened. That's a bonus. The nights are the point.

FAQ
Questions? hello@getchroma.co. We answer within 24 hours.
The light tilts at the base, so you can aim it at a wall or the ceiling and let the room fill with bounced light instead of pointing it at the crib. At low amber it's closer to candlelight than a lamp.
Two things. Most cheap lights flicker, and it gets worse when you dim them. Most warm bulbs still carry blue light. They look cozy and they still tell your body it's morning. The Sky Portal is flicker-free at every brightness, and its night mode has no blue light in it at all.
Yes. Day mode is bright, clean light that makes the room feel more like outside. Turn the dial as the day goes.

Get your nighttime light right, and go back to bed.
Do yourself a favor. The baby gets one too.
